24th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Stewardship thought for the week

September 17, 2017 – 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

“For if we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord; so then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s” – ROMANS 14:8

This is the essence of stewardship – everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God. We aren’t “owners” of anything, we are merely “stewards” of the gifts that God has given us, especially our very own lives. Pray to God, daily, and ask Him how He wants you to use the gifts He has given you.

.Last week’s collection: Envelopes $1,238.05; Loose $184.00; Hurricane Relief $567.00 .Other $45.00Total:  $2,059.05                                                  Remember, God can never be outdone in generosity.

Volunteer Opportunity—Ronald McDonald House Charities is opening its fourth Saint Louis Family Room and is in need of volunteers.  They are opening a new room on the third floor of the new Saint Louis Children’s Hospital and expect to serve 5,000 families per year.

All they are asking for is a minimum three-hour shifts per month.

This looks like a very rewarding opportunity to be of service to young patients and their families.
