27th Sunday of Ordinary Time
Stewardship thought for the week
October 8, 2017 – 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
“The stone the builders rejected has become the corner stone…” – MATTHEW 21:42
Jesus was the corner stone and He was rejected by the religious and political leaders of his day, as well as ordinary citizens. Living a stewardship lifestyle may cause you to be “rejected” by others in today’s society. For example, saying grace before a meal in a restaurant may attract some strange looks from some. But to others it is sign that God is alive and well!

Goulash Festival News–The menu for the festival will be goulash over noodles or ½ baked chicken with green beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, dessert, coffee and tea. Adult dinners are $11.00 and kids under 12 are just $5.00.
There will be games, booths, church tours, and live music by Czech express.
We are in need of items for prizes. Please bring any new gifts or gift cards to the rectory. Your generosity will go a long way to making our biggest annual fund raiser a success.
We will be raffling hams and turkeys at the Festival. Contributions of these items will be greatly appreciated. Please contact Sue at the rectory.
We also need workers. Please contact Bob Deppe 314.604.9920 to schedule a time. It’s not really work. You get to meet a lot of nice people and you’re helping spread the word about SJN.
Rest in Peace Mary Anne Jerabeck who passed away this week. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.
This Sunday is Hospitality Sunday. Coffee and donuts will be served in the hall following 9:30 mass. Please join us.
